CES is considered the global stage for innovation - it’s where many next-generation innovations and breakthrough technologies receive their introduction into the marketplace. Given the impressive high tech capabilities of the all-new CLA, it seemed the perfect venue for its debut.

The all-new Mercedes Benz CLA boasts the same technological advancements as that of the A-Class and B Class models, but presents a sportier coupe silhouette that is sure to impress. Despite the car’s sleek coupe profile, the CLA is a four-door vehicle that comfortably offers room for 5 people. Slightly longer and wider than its predecessor, the new CLA offers improved headspace for front seat passenger and driver and improved elbow and leg room for back seat passengers.

More aerodynamic than before, the new Mercedes Benz CLA is wind-tunnel-tuned, which enhances the efficiency and road handling of the car. The front and rear tracks have been widened to improve stability and provide greater handling, whilst also enhancing the appearance of the car.

Powered by a brand new 2.0 litre, four-cylinder engine, turbocharged to deliver 221 horsepower at 5, 800 rpm - the all-new CLA is quick to respond, efficient and light in weight. Fuel friendly, the all-new CLA offers ECO start/stop - automatically pausing the engine at red lights to save on fuel costs. It will come standard with front-wheel drive and a seven speed automatic transmission, however all-wheel drive will also be available.

Given that Mercedes Benz debuted this car at the CES, it’s probably time to make mention of just some of the host of new technical features that the all-new CLA boasts. It offers safety technologies that have been adopted from higher end models, and includes autonomous emergency braking and lane-keep assist. It’s unique ESP (Electronic Stability Program) calibration assist with the car’s potentially high cornering speeds and handling performance. It has the ability to proactively adjust the speed when approaching bends, junctions or roundabouts, which means that the all-new CLA has semi-autonomous driving capabilities. A first for the CLA.

Equipped with MBUX (Mercedes Benz User Experience), the all-new CLA offers the latest in artificial intelligence via the infotainment system, which allows users to operate the system through hand gestures. MBUX even has the ability to customise the system to adapt it to the suitability of the individual user.
