Why should you buy premium tyres?

For some people, the state of their tyres is not something they keep up
with. And it can come as a surprise that you’re up for new tyres without
much notice. At Donnellans we often see customers come in requesting the
cheapest tyre possible. This makes sense if you only consider short term
gains, however cheap tyres may cost you more over time.
While we do pride ourselves on providing the best service possible for
every customer regardless of budget, at Donnellans we will always
recommend a premium tyre because we see the benefits in fuel economy, wet
weather safety, longevity and wet weather braking performance in the long
term.
So what is Zip Pay and how does it work?
Budget tyres may get you out of a bind last minute, but did you know that
Donnellans offer Zip Pay and Zip Money in-store? Don’t worry if you’re
never heard of or used Zip financing before, we’ll break it down for you
and explain why you might want to consider buying premium tyres on Zip
Pay!
Zip Pay is a 0% interest credit system (if you finish paying the balance
within 60 days). With credit limits across 3 tiers, ($350, $500 and $1000)
there is definitely room to purchase some quality tyres for your car, SUV
or 4x4, rather than whatever’s cheapest to get you on your way.
If you’re going all-out on high performance tyres, or a new wheel and tyre
package that totals more than your credit allowance through Zip Pay, you
have the option of either splitting the payment or going through a Zip
Money account instead.
A full breakdown of the differences between the two account types is
listed here.
Essentially, the in-store result is the same, choose your wheels/tyres and
pay nothing in-store on the day! Donnellans can get you back on the road
with prompt and efficient service.
Signing up for Zip accounts is easy. It can be done online ahead of time
or you can sign up in-store. The approval process usually takes only a few
minutes.
What do I have to gain from putting tyres on finance?
If you’re trying to find the value in putting a consumable item like new
tyres on finance, let’s have a look at some high performing tyres from
Bridgestone and discuss exactly what the big deal is over a no-name
general tyre.
Bridgestone Dueler A/T D697
While a high performing All Terrain (AT) tyre like the D697 won’t
necessarily get you more grip off-road, you’ll often find features such as
edge blocks engineered to minimise on-road noise. The tyre also features
heavier duty internal steel belts and sidewall construction featuring
technology derived from light truck tyres to make a tougher tyre than
other options on the market. Bridgestone has also revised the tyre
compound to ensure extra long wear life without compromising wet weather
and off-road performance.
Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus
If you own a luxury sedan or a small/medium size car, Bridgestone has
engineered the Turanza Serenity Plus to be the ‘ultimate in ride comfort
and low road noise’. How the Serenity Plus earns the nametag of a ‘premium
tyre’ is because Bridgstone has succeeded in engineering a tyre that
manages to be comfortable, long wearing and provides excellent wet weather
performance. A perfect commuting tyre.
Bridgestone Potenza RE003
Bridgestone really shook up the performance tyre segment with the RE003
tyre. This tyre offers exceptional dry grip without sacrificing wet
weather safety. The RE003 has a clever tread design that improves steering
wheel feedback resulting in a crisp and decisive feel. Available in sizes
to fit everything from small town cars to luxury performance sedans,
Bridgestone has engineered a tyre that satisfies enthusiast drivers and
the occasional Sunday Track-day heroes.
