Bridgestone Turanza 005 in A CLASS of its own!
The all new Bridgestone Turanza T005 is the latest tyre to be developed and produced in Europe. Delivering exceptional handling in the wet combined with high mileage and comfort, the Turanza T005 is a premium touring tyre for all driving conditions.
Bridgestone has collaborated closely with Mercedes-Benz for over 2 years, designing and testing the new Turanza T005 to fit OE on the all new Mercedes Benz A-Class vehicles for 2018.
When the A Class was introduced in 1997 the German manufacturer who originally launched the vehicle as a spacious 4 door, went back to the drawing board on its 3rd release, targeting a much younger demographic.
The 4th generation A-Class being released this year will be fitted with OE Bridgestone Turanza T005 tyres. They replace the current T001 EVO and will be available in a range of sizes from 16” – 20” however 17-19” will be available on the Mercedes A-Class.

Daniele Turriziani, a Bridgestone EMEA test driver was there every step of the way through the tyres development stages. Daniel who was actively involved in the engineering process of the tyres, states:
“The A-Class has a very youthful, dynamic character. It’s also extremely modern and comfortable. We wanted the Turanza T005 to bring all these qualities to the forefront by tailoring the tyres to the car from the very beginning of the design phase.”
“Bridgestone engineers fine-tuned the latest tread compounds to the plans and designs for the A-Class,” continued Daniele.
Changing your tyre on the side of the road is a thing of the past as the 17” & 18” Turanza T005 come fully equipped with run-flat technology.
Run-Flat is not new tech but it has been refined and engineered to be much safer than previous versions. With your regular tyres, a puncture means rapid air loss and a loss of steering control. With run flat tyres and a puncture, there is no sudden deflation and you can safely make it to the next service centre.
A new tread pattern design incorporating a very unique side-wall sipe design helps disperse water resulting in less chance of aquaplaning.
